cookies, honestly.
We keep this light. Here is exactly what this site stores in your browser and what it fetches while you read — no euphemisms.

The short version
This site does not use advertising cookies, and it does not track you across other websites. To do its job it stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage, and it makes a few background requests to show you live gold prices and market news. That is the whole of it. Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide what you asked for, we do not show a consent pop-up for it.
Local storage we use
Local storage is a small space in your own browser. It stays on your device and is not sent to us automatically the way a traditional cookie is. We use it to remember light preferences so the site behaves sensibly between visits — for example:
- Display preferences — your chosen weight units and any buy/sell/exchange view, so the site opens the way you left it.
- Interface state — small flags such as whether you have dismissed a one-off notice.
We do not store anything sensitive in your browser — no passwords, no identity documents, no payment details. You can clear this storage at any time (see "Managing storage" below) and the site will simply fall back to its defaults.
Live-price & news requests
Some pages show a live gold price and a short market-news feed. To do that, your browser makes background requests to the services that supply this data while the page is open. Those requests are needed for the figures and headlines to appear and stay current.
As with any web request, the service receiving it can see technical information such as your IP address — that is simply how the internet works. We use these requests only to display prices and news, not to build a profile of you. The providers involved are listed at [data provider names], and their own policies govern what they do with request data.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising or marketing cookies.
- We do not share your browsing with ad networks.
- We do not use cross-site tracking or fingerprinting to follow you around the web.
- We do not sell any data gathered through the site.
If we ever add optional analytics, we will ask for your consent first and update this page before turning it on.
Managing storage
You are always in control. You can clear local storage and block or delete cookies through your browser's privacy or site-data settings — usually under "Privacy", "Site settings" or "Clear browsing data". Doing so will reset your preferences here but will not stop you using the site.
For how we handle any personal data more generally, see our privacy notice.
